A general outline of how password-protected articles work on beemy
General Overview
A password-protected article is used for sharing sensitive content. Maybe you have some private journal entries that you want to share with only those you feel comfortable with. Or maybe you have company information that only a select few are allowed to see. Password-protected articles solve these problems.
When you share a password-protected article link, the other person must have the password to be able to access the content of the article. Note that, unlike many popular paywall blockers that just blur the content of the site, none of the content of the protected article will be sent to the user. The only way to get access to the content is to provide the password to the article.
There currently is no way to add password-protected articles to blog pages, and password-protected articles do not display on any article pages.
Editing Password Protected Articles
If a password-protected article is either reverted or put in edit mode, you must reassign a password for the article. This is for security purposes.
Security
Currently, any images and media attached to the password-protected article should be considered NOT PRIVATE. In other words, if you upload any images to a password-protected article, it is possible for others to gain access to those images - but they will have to be pretty technically savvy.
